From Acadian Folk Songs written by Irène Thérèse Whitfield.

Traditionally, the Acadians sang songs of many origins. Like all folk songs, these songs express simple ideas in selective themes, often echoing incidents of life experience or the past. They would sing these songs on various occasions, such as evening gatherings, banquets, social reunions, the theatre, receptions, and parties. Following are songs taken from the Fonds Désiré d’Eon.
